Biography

Christopher recently completed his PhD from the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Waterloo.  He has worked as a research intern with the Human Interactions in Programming group at Microsoft Research, Redmond, WA, studying how software engineers coordinate within and between teams, across continents and overseas.  He has conducted experiments, using social psychology and behavioural economics methods, which help explain why and under what conditions team members help or fail to help one another during work.

He is currently preparing research papers based on his PhD dissertation and teaching courses in Organizational Behaviour and Organization Theory, Structure, and Design.  Current research interests include coordination between team members and between teams, and cognitive and social psychological explanations for altruism, helping behaviour, and unhelpful behaviour in work situations.
