Biography
Josephine McKay is currently the a/Director, Aboriginal Initiatives on term till summer 2010 while Leanne Bellegarde is on a secondment with PSC.
Josephine is a Cree First Nation and Métis women who is a member of Peter Ballantyne Cree Nation with strong Métis roots from Cumberland House. Josephine grew up in the small northern community of Denare Beach, SK.
Most of Josephine's post secondary education is from the Edwards School of Business (formerly the College of Commerce). Where she successfully completed the CIBA program in 1998 (partnership between ESB & Saskatchewan Indian Federated College (SIFC)), followed by a Bachelor of Commerce in 2000, then most recently completing her Master Business Administration in 2008.
Josephine transferred to ESB from the College Nursing, where she was in term position with the Native Access Program to Nursing/Medicine (NAPN/M) as an Aboriginal Student Advisor for one year. Prior to that she was employed for 4 years with the Saskatoon Health Region as an Aboriginal Workforce Consultant. An education from ESB has afforded Josephine many employment opportunities throughout the last 10 - 12 years. Her experience includes education, health care, financial, and natural resource sectors. All of which were made possible as a result of her education from ESB.
Josephine looks forward to working with the students, faculty and staff for the next few month.
